Areas of Expertise

Counseling

My favorite aspect of counseling is working with an array of different people, who are all unique individuals, who come from different cultural backgrounds. My primary focus is to help clients identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; and promote behavior change and optimal mental health.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave.  Our aim is to promote self-awareness and emotional intelligence by teaching our clients to “read” their emotions and distinguish healthy from unhealthy feelings. By helping clients understand how distorted perceptions and thoughts contribute to painful feelings, we can help improve emotional regulation, and develop a plan for personal coping skills.

Psychotherapy

The purpose of Psychotherapy is to Set People Free.  Psychotherapy or talk therapy, is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing.
